I take a trip to the mountians outside Tokyo for a one day escape from urban life. It was nice to get out of the city, however brief. I got back in touch with the non-metrosexual manside by grilling meat over hot coals and having a warm schvitz. I wish I could do this every weekend, but sadly life in Tokyo is mostly working for the man. Hida city is located in the hest north of Gifu pref. It is a beautiful land surrounded by Hida mountains (Northern Japanese Alps) and Mt.Haku-san. Hida is known for its old traditional town houses build by skillful Hida craftsmen. In rural areas, you will see a beautiful nostalgic landscape of old farm houses dotted in vast rice fields. 
I take a stroll down to Tokyo's Temple dedicated to Enma, King of the Underworld. Located near Monzennakacho Station. To balance that out I also visited Meji Shrine located near Harajuku in the heart of Tokyo, a tranquil rest from the hustle of the city.
